Dancing barefoot in the blazing sunshine on the beach or at a pool is for many still the Ibiza party experience number one, especially since this is something you would normally not be able to do at home. And what better place to experience this than at San Antonio’s newest daytime venue – the Ocean Beach Club. The highly awaited prestige location opened its doors on June 28th in the bay after days of hectic and diligent last minute construction working. And to cut it short: What an amazing project!

Central to the venue of course is a curved pool which in some parts is quite shallow to allow dancing, standing with your feet in the water or cooling yourself by lying down still listening comfortably to the banging tunes of the rotating DJs. Situated like mini islands in the pool are several VIP Beds, which can be booked in advance for a reasonable minimum spend. But with beanbag chairs, sunbeds or soft fake grass everybody should be able to make themselves comfortable and have a drink from several bars or fresh sushi. There is also a full fledged restaurant called ‚Pearl‘ and a small club in the complex to move the party indoors after midnight.

Beautiful and sexy people, including a guy in a Borat-Style bathing suit, were enjoying the opening with smiling faces everywhere, only mingled with one or the other tear of joy: The preteen daughter of one of the owners delivered a touching speech in which she thanked the workers for their tireless commitment to the project.

On a typical afternoon at the Ocean Beach club you can expect live percussion, violin and saxophone accompanying the DJs. There are also sexy dancers, stage shows and acrobats.

On the opening we could hear beach house tunes, also with a strong soul flavour, and well known German house DJ Tom Novy who took over the the turntables from around 10pm to deliver a set which included popular classics such as No Doubt’s ‚It’s my life‘ and the awesome ‚Swimming places‘ of Julian Jabre.

And Tom will be back this summer: Hosting the new Beach Club’s flagship event ‚Deepflight‘ together with Paul Lomax (every Tuesday from midday until midnight outside, then inside). Guests this season include The Shapeshifters, Oliver Koletzki, Jonathan Ulysses and island legend DJ Pippi.

Very special guest at the ‘Deepflight” opening on Tuesday, 10th of July 2012, will be the 70/80ies icons ‚Sister Sledge‘. Other special events at the Ocean Beach Club include a daytime party by popular brand Hed Kandi on Mondays. All is set for an amazing new venue which will boost San Antonio’s appeal and image to new heights!
