Day One Festival

Spain is one of the strongest party nations in Europe and there is no doubt that the „Day One“ festival in Madrid on the 1st of January is an excellent choice for techno fans to celebrate the start of the new year.

Maybe you will not start a new life but at least you will experience an unforgettable beginning of 2012, so don’t miss this high quality range of confirmed festival acts such as Richie Hawtin, Gaiser (live), Barem (live), Ambivalent, Guti, Loco Dice b2b Marco Carola (4 hours set), Luciano, Oscar Mulero, Paco Osuna, Reboot b2b Robert Dietz feat. „No Hit Wonder“, Tini, Uner and Vitalic.

Day One Festival is definitely the right choice to kick off a New Year for fans of real techno. Taking place at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid, the festival will ensure the day is like no ordinary day, and will excite your eyes and ears with incredible production, sound systems and party atmosphere.

Last year the festival saw thousands of people from all over Europe convene in the Spanish capital to start 2011 at the Day One festival, and again this time clubbers will not regret it, with another highly professional composition of world-class underground sound, out-of-this-world visuals and lights, blowing your mind to the left, right and back to center.

This year sees a very special Minus gathering featuring all the key names from Richie Hawtin’s seminal techno label. Apart from the Minus boss himself  (aka the Plastikman) there will be live spectaculars from Barem and Gaiser plus a DJ show from Ambivalent – all who have helped define Hawtin’s seminal, stripped down and futuristic label concept with plenty of their own EP’s and LP’s in the past decade.

Another highlight is a back to back return of Desolat head Loco Dice and Italian minimal master Marco Carola who will be playing together for four hours, sustaining their incredible show from  last year, as well as sets from Crosstown Rebels’ man of the moment Guti, Cadenza boss Luciano and Spaniards Oscar Mulero and Plus 8 man Paco Osuna.

Cadenza fans are in for a real treat as not only Luciano will be playing, but also his label associates Reboot and Robert Dietz featuring ‘No Hit Wonder’, playing one of their loopy, melodic and tech influenced back to back sets. Then you’ll have on the list Diynamic hero Uner and Desolat’s latest long player star Tini who round up the line up together with Vitalic.

The first day of the new year should be celebrated with enthusiasm and maximum fun, so „Day One“ in Madrid is the festival which gives you all you need to get right into 2012!
