Review: Time Warp Italy

Time Warp Italy16.000 visitors from all over Europe joined the Italy debut of Mannheim’s Time Warp edition at the sold out Fiera Milano Rho on the 1st of October. Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, all the other artists and the frenetic Italian crowd made this event a night to remember and the fashion metropolis turned into the epicentre of techno. It was 19:30 when the first visitors passed the gates and spread over the three areas.

Italian DJ heroes like Lele Sacchi, Mass Prod., Cirillo, Fabrizio Maurizi and Clockwork welcomed the visitors. The latter had the honour to open the open air stage outside the Fiera – the first open air floor ever in Time Warp history. But in this night no one thought about nationalities, passports or borders. There was only one big and peaceful audience, with a common language: electronic music. The clock stroke 23:00 when the first headliners entered the DJ booths. Chris Liebing kicked off with a fantastic techno set on floor 2, Ellen Allien did an outstanding job when rocking the crowd on floor 1 and Karotte took his audience on a journey into the fascinating world of techhouse.

Time Warp Italy Grande Finale

One of the highlights was for sure Carl Cox‘ set: the British legend started with an epic intro which let the crowd go crazy. In the meantime Ibiza hero Loco Dice infected floor 1 with his unique Desolat sound. Anyone who thought this cannot be beaten was proved wrong when Time Warp headliners Sven and Richie entered their stages, again responsible for some magical moments on the dancefloor, better known as the typical Time Warp feeling.
