They came, they saw, they conquered, and then some more. Miami was taken by force by Mr. Lazarus and his army of rebels for the 8th annual Get Lost celebration, which proved to be the biggest and finest one of them all. As one of the most influential and celebrated events of the Miami Music Week madness, 2013 proved once again Damian Lazarus’s expertise in entertainment. The event roster included some of the most influential artist in the electronic music up to date, including; Carl Craig, Infinity Ink, Art Department, Droog, Bill Patrick, DJ Three, Shaun Reeves, Francesca Lombardo, Subb-an, Cassy, Eats Everything, Lee Curtiss, TINI, Craig Richards, Eduardo Castillo, Burnski, Fur Coat, Guti & Fosky, Jozif, Just Be, Maayan Nidam, Mark Jenkyns, Richy Ahmed, Robert James, Roska, Tiga, Russ Yallop, Skream, DJ Sneak.
The last minute venue change from The Electric Pickle, which hosted Get Lost for years, to the tropics of Ice Palace Film Studios, promised to be a tremendous success. The venue’s outdoor area was a perfect electronic playground, with waterfall surroundings, small cabanas, and green grass under the Miami sunshine, while the in door room was equipped with appropriate sound system, and a disco background for the after sunset adventures.
Highlights in performance had to be Francesca Lombardo. Relatively new to the label, Lombardo is a perfect fit to the Crosstown family. Her deep house set was welcomed with a lot of love, and her live singing to her last track, before Art Department’s take over, was impressive. With the selection of artist, which Get Lost showcased, there was no room for disappointment, though oldschoolers like, Carl Craig, Damian Lazarus himself, Craig Richards, Cassy, DJ Three, always deserve some extra credit. Infinity Ink had the crowed going with their live show, and every other artist kept the fire burning and the dancefloor rocking until the very end.
In summery, all that could be said is thank you Damian and all the rebels for this magical Get Lost experience and let us keep the memories of the fun times had until 2014.
