Sooooo many rumors are going around concerning the upcoming season in Ibiza! Nothing yet officially confirmed but here we give you a little taste of what you can expect on the Isla Blanca next summer: definitely a lot of changes in the party calendar for 2012!
Swedish departure
The buzz that was going around that the guys from Swedish House Mafia have left Pacha has been sealed as a fact already some time ago. But still however nobody knows where the Swedes will be playing in Ibiza this summer. Infinite speculations are going around!
Rumour No.1 is that in 2012 Swedish House Mafia will be performing exclusively at Ushuaia. Rumour No. 2 that they will not play in Ibiza at all this summer because of family reasons. Rumour No. 3 is that they will take over Monday nights at Privilege!
Tiësto from Privilege to Pacha?
The Ibizan gulls are screaming it from the rooftops that Tiësto – after four successful years at Privilege – is leaving. Some say that he is moving to the other side of the Autopista and will be playing 4 exclusive dates at Amnesia in 2012. What seems also to be an option for Tiësto is to take the vacant position of the Swedish House Mafia, namely Mondays at Pacha (which is known for easily digestible and vocal-heavy house music). Wondering if this combination would fit. Hmmmm … Several times we heard cynical voices saying that during the last years Tiësto has been trying to prove that he was playing house music? Well, in this case Tiësto at Pacha 2012 would maybe make sense…
Luciano @ Pacha or back to Circoloco?
The rumours about Luciano and his Vagabundos are galopping faster than the wind. One of them says that it is the end of the cherry-picking time for the Chilean superstar. Whether a separation from Pacha would go hand in hand with deleting all Britney Spears Mp3’s from his computer?!? Open to speculation…!!
From Italy we just recently caught a tweet that make us hope to see Luciano again playing more often in the area around Ses Salines. However, the Ushuaia Beach Hotel in Playa d’en Bossa provides an additional opportunity for further speculation about Luciano’s whereabouts next summer.
But what would happen in theory if the gipsy king really decides to withdraw his Cadenza Vagabundos from Pacha? Hard to say, but ( — do you remember the motto of Ushuaia 2011 “Expect the Enexpected“..? — ) Luciano’s return to DC10/Circoloco would certainly be a massive Ibiza news 2012!
Mondays at Amnesia
As always, this year again there is much guesswork about the possible Cocoon summer lineups. The opening party is set for Monday, 11th June 2012, but big question marks arise when some begin to speculate about the possible constellation of the Cocoon Ibiza artists 2012. Resident DJs Sven, Raresh, Cassy, Dice, and… who else?
There’s this controversial rumor about Richie Hawtin going around, who supposedly wants to host his own weekly Minus night at Space this summer.
And what is actually happening with Tobi Neumann? Let us briefly recall the Cocoon Closing Party 2011 when he spoiled us with an extended Rap / RnB interlude (watch the video below). It was rumored after that he got offered a residency at Eden in San Antonio to perform together alongside artists like Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Eminem providing musical highlights there. We personally hope that the truth of this message is equal to zero. „Dear Tobi, please stay with us and the 4/4-beat. You did a good job so far!“
All in all – we can expect a very exciting 2012!
Which other Ibiza rumours are going around …?
- Allegedly a large beach resort in Playa d’en Bossa is planning to transform itself also into a party hotel a la Ushuaïa or the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
- The Pacha Group has taken the „Ibiza One“ hotel in Talamanca / Cap Martinet and is just expanding it into an ultra luxury party hotel.
- The GPS Hotel Group is re-opening the „Marco Polo“ in the center of San Antonio (100 meters from the fabulous Egg) in 2012 also as a new party hotel.
- An ultra-cool new beach venue opens in San Antonio. The „Ocean Club Ibiza“ promises the most beautiful sunsets and sounds at one of the best spots of the legendary San An sunset strip!
- It is said that „Particular“ beach club in Cala Jondal (closed since 2002!) is preparing a re-opening in 2012 after a failed start last summer.
- Cirque du Soleil has taken the restaurant „Baracca“ in Talamanca Beach and is planning unique artistic events there in 2012.
The rumor, which has however become the most common and which is connected with the greatest hopes and wishful thinking:
That after the change of government in Ibiza in May 2011 the political regulations for opening hours in Ibiza will be handled again more liberal, and that there will be again – legal – after hour partys, for example at Space.
