If you know anything about Ibiza and its clubs then you’ll know about DC10. Ibizas most iconic outfit. Never has a venue had such a community feel and unique atmosphere as this temple of sound that sprouted from very humble beginnings in 1999. The clubs history is a somewhat troubled one perhaps adding to the adhesive nature of those involved and supporting the cause to keep the party alive all these years.
Organically growing without massive marketing machines that other may utilise it has kept its mystic as a venue over the years and enforced its niche year on year with clear focus on its mission. Providing unadulterated aural pleasure creating a vibe like no other. Mission complete.
One massive movement that is synonymous with the club, Circo Loco is a notoriously riotous occasion on Mondays starting in daylight and finishing under the cover of darkness. Not for the faint hearted. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to become best mates with your new terrace friends. This season has seen once again huge numbers descend on the Salinas dance mecca causing nations to literally combine on the dance floor in a mellay of international appreciation for the underground sounds.
This party is a right of passage for any serious international clubber and with line-ups witnessed this season on the infamous ‚Loco‘ Clown embossed posters it’s no surprise. DJs taking serious pay cuts to become part of the family and get the chance to take control of the red walled space on numerous occasions are the likes of Seth Trox
ler, Tania Vulcano, Matthias Tanzman, Davide Squillace, Kerri Chandler. The all guns blazing last shindig set for the 6th October is lined up to be another ridiculous collection of artists robbing the globe of talent for another Monday afternoon.
Backing this world renowned Monday party up for the third season is Wednesdays ‚A Tribe Called Paradise‘ night headed up by Hot creations and long standing DC regular Jamie Jones. Rising literally from the dance floor to DJ booth he has put together an outstanding and equally fresh line up taking only the best from the current crop of house and techno talent. All eyes will be on the closing party set for 24th September with Dixon, Cajmere, Kink (live) and the very much in demand Âme. On this date one of the 5 special takeover sessions will take place utilising all the available rooms to devastating effect.
In addition to these two weekly events we have been lucky enough to have more shows crammed into the diary to accommodate the relentless hunger for DC10 madness with the ‚Movement‘ series of parties that occurred every Saturday in August. Five showcase events took place in collaboration with the Italian party starters with Dennis Ferrer let loose on the thunderous system as well as Art Department adding up to yet another inspiring gatherings right in the middle of the summer madness.
Don’t expect laser shows or ice cannons. This is a stripped-back house and techno party designed for professional dance music addicts. With line ups secretly held until the last moment for added tension and to keep a focus on the event itself expect September to come with a few surprises in store as A-list DJs moonlight and drop extended special sets. Anyone remember Loco Dice or Carl Cox dropping in last season?
September really can produce the goods in terms of impromptu sets as the end of the season is in sight and well oiled promotional party machines really start to flex their muscles. So get to the gym and in training as we about to go for the final push! Are you ready?
