With UNER winning the Newcomer of the year trophy at the Ibiza DJ Awards last week a whole new, prolific generation of Spanish producers was acknowledged.
A small group, including artists like Edu Imbernon, Coyu and Los Suruba, who have all started very early with producing and exhibit a pleasure in musical harmony and melody. ‘I’m so happy, and I feel so thankful to my team and to all of those who keep on supporting me and making possible my dreams to come true: music’, says UNER.
With hard, industrious production work UNER has gained the respect of some of our scene’s greatest players and earned himself several releases on the influential Diynamic and Cadenza labels. The Ibiza DJ Award is the culmination of UNER’s best summer season to date with regular appearances at Pacha’s Insane, Ants at Ushuaia, Diynamic at Sankeys and The Revolution Unites at Space. UNER: ‘At the beginning of the season we had some clear objectives, now I daresay that we’ve gone beyond.’
Nominated together with tough competitors like Andrea Oliva, Hot since 82 or Hector UNER gathered the most votes in this category and took the crown. Now, finally his debut album will follow: Titled ‘Four Consecutive’ it portrays UNER’s first four years in the business and the sounds he produced. ‘An album is like a development or an evolution. It is compound by 13 tracks based on experiences, collaborations and different motifs. It’s a means to intimate with both, music and audience, and whisper honestly who I am from the within.’
So all looks good for UNER, but the producer does not believe in sheer luck: ‘I think that luck comes as a consequence of both: working hard and being constant. The most important thing is being able to read the messages that life gives us daily, and to be able to understand them, as well as to respond to them passionately and honestly, focusing one’s efforts in the present, right here and right now.’
Congratulations to UNER from the whole Partysan team for an impeccable season!
