What’s On At Pacha Ibiza Until The End Of The Season

A dominant worldwide club force and visually bold brand, Pacha Ibiza leads the way for its global identity and leads the way for others to follow.

Retaining immense pulling power by innovative bookings and nightlife concepts, mixed with consistent crowd pleasers and A-list artists since its conception in 1973, the Ibizan institution has always had its foundation in the sound of House music and whatever that current conception of the genre may be – a truly original Ibicencan nightclub.

After a season of big changes in 2013, the club with the cherries returned for the summer season with a slightly tweaked version of the previous years music programming, building on the successful whilst adding to the ranks. Carefully balancing the 7 days seems to be key hosting everyone from Digweed to Aoki with the magical Flower Power nights nestled perfectly in the mix.

Mondays this year have been taken over by the the Ibiza Rocks promoters with their ‚Ibiza Rocks House‘ themed night. A solid line-up of past, present and future house stars have been acquired to produce a four to the floor fun filled evening. Its all about smiles and good times with DJs encouraged to take a few risks and drop as many surprises as the imaginative promoters themselves in creating something unique. The concept really attempts to get back to the Balearic spirit sometimes missing on the island with many a random occurrence carefully planned for that WTF moment. Bringing the auditory ammunition across September will be headliners Basement Jaxx and Kenny Dope on the 8th, Groove Armada and Kevin Saunderson on the 15th and after a week off for the DJ Awards returning on the 29th of the month is the unstoppable MK and US jock Derrick Carter.

Ibiza town on a Tuesday evening is over run by flowery dresses and daisy headbands meaning only one thing: Flower Power at Pacha, the brightest and most historic party on the island. Now a weekly occurrence with Pacha co-founder Piti Urgell at the helm, adding a level of musical consistency not found in any other venue, placing Amy Winehouse tracks alongside The Beatles and The Doors, making sense to the colourful packed main room in front of him. Encapsulating the peace and love ethos of the island has struck a cord with many of the faux hippies that flock to show off their best disco moves in 60’s garb.

Steve Aoki has had more headlines than most this year with not one press report failing to highlight his cake throwing or crowd surfing antics. He may not be everyones cup of tea but he is definitely a polarising artist and very popular one at that. Wednesdays Pacha will transform into ‚The Neon Future‘ as he pumps his unrivalled energy amongst ice cannons, confetti and cake for Aoki’s Playhouse. Alongside the big electro sounds he brings there will be a stack of other EDM heavyweights such as Laidback Luke and Junior Sanchez on the 3rd September, Nervo on the 10th and the Bloody Beatroots DJ set on the 24th the standouts for this first season of charismatic entertainer.

David Guetta and his FMIF brand meet Pacha in a world of beautiful people sipping champagne whilst having the time of their lives. It really is a perfect synergy and one that has not gone unnoticed by management of both. Coupled with his professionalism and drive to put the party first is key to his success delivering hands in the air moments to a sardine tight crowd time after time with the trademark Guetta verve. Over the top production with pumped up beats is what’s expected from this pop hit maker and thats exactly what you will get. Helping him create special summer moments for this month are Chuckie and Daddy Groove on the 4th, Arno Cost on the 11th, Hard Rock Sofa on the 18th before Daddys Groove return on the 25th to close out September.

Back for its second run Insane nights take up the Friday spot, kicking off the weekend with a straight up no nonsense rave up of the more serious house and techno variety. Centred around legends of the scene John Digweed and Dennis Ferrer, the residents have brought in quite a varied mix of guests to musically explore the sonic landscape a little further than perhaps the other nights on offer at the venue. Following this ideology and taking the reigns for 4 dates over the season returns Guy Gerber and his Wisdom Of The Glove concept, one of which falls on the 26th September with Tiga and Magda. Other September highlights include Reboot on the 5th, MK on the 12th and Tensnake flying in on the 19th.

Saturday night is still the holy grail for clubbing even on an island where every night feels like the weekend. Pure Pacha is back for another season after a short hiatus and brings back fabulous glamorous accessible clubbing to the island in a big way. Within the opulent surrounds of the white washed disco walls, mirror balls and beautiful dancers bounce to the sounds of Bob Sinclair and Martin Solveig on alternate weeks plus their hand picked energetic guests. Mirrorball mainstream weekend fun is the order of the day with Kenny Dope on the 27th of September and the closing party with Martin Solveig, The Magician and many more on the 4th October.

The Underground legend, Solomun, who moved from other venues on the island to focus on his Solomun +1 concept at Pacha on Sundays, has continued where he left off last season. Having secured some really amazing acts as his guests to join him in the DJ box moved into the middle of the dance floor, the season has really had some awesome collaborations with DJ set times more a guild line as both artists usually ended up in some kind of back to back session at some point. This making for some more unpredictable fluid choices and a less regimented order to the sound and in turn adding to the already electric atmosphere. Good times indeed for deep funky house lovers: Pete Tong, UK radio legend joins him on the 7th September, Âme on the 14th, Miss Kittin on the 21st, Adriatique on the 28th and the closing party is set for 5th October.
